Just before 11:30 am today, Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to the area of 46th & O Street for a reported two-vehicle accident.
Scanner traffic overheard by LLCS indicated that a vehicle had struck a Nebraska State Patrol Trooper’s cruiser, and that the other driver was unconscious.
LPD says the initial investigation has indicated that a white Honda Fit was eastbound on O Street, and the cruiser was westbound. The Honda Fit turned northbound onto N 46th Street and collided with the cruiser.
The driver of the Honda Fit was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The Trooper sustained an injury to his arm and was transported by another Trooper to the hospital.
