On Wednesday around 8 pm, Lincoln Police were called to the Hazel Able Park, near 17th & E Street, for a report of someone yelling at passing pedestrians.
Upon arrival, officers contacted 26-year-old Dustin Kann, who had an outstanding broadcast for arrest. As they approached Kann, he began to flee after being told not to run.
When an officer grabbed Kann, he punched the officer in the face and began wrestling with him. As a result of the struggle, the officer suffered a sprained ankle.
A taser was eventually deployed, bringing Kann into custody. LPD says the injured officer was not able to complete the rest of his shift.
