On Friday just before midnight, law enforcement along with Lincoln Fire & Rescue responded to an accident in the 6000 Block of O Street. Initial reports indicated that a person was trapped.
An LSO deputy happened to be in the area and arrived promptly at the scene, observing the Kia Optima wrapped around a tree. The deputy began rendering aid to the driver, an unidentified 19-year-old male, who was removed from the vehicle.
Witnesses told law enforcement that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on O Street when it lost control. The vehicle swerved into the median, striking a tree.
The driver was transported to a Lincoln hospital with life-threatening injuries. His current condition remains unclear.
